Rattery Village Hall - Conditions of Hire

  1. The Management Committee accepts no liability for any accidents/thefts involving vehicles on village hall land
  2. Fire Exit lights must be switched on during use and Fire Exit Doors unobstructed
  3. No naked lights (including Tea Lights) are allowed in the hall.
  4. Chinese lanterns are not allowed on village hall land.
  5. No offensive weapons are to be brought on to the premises.
  6. All users must have correct and adequate insurance for their needs.
  7. The floor to be protected from any activity that might damage it, i.e. paint, sand, no black soled sports shoes or stilettos.
  8. All equipment to be put away after use using the trolleys provided to avoid dragging.
  9. All electrical equipment with exception of Wi-Fi must be turned off before leaving the premises.
  10. All doors and windows to be locked on leaving and the keys returned promptly.
  11. All proper instructions from the Booking Clerk must be complied with.

A Temporary Events licence must be obtained from South Hams District Council if you wish to supply alcohol or stage any activity not covered by our Premises Licence. A Phonographic Performance Limited Licence is required when taped music is being used in public. All doors and windows must be closed when music is playing. Fans at each end of the hall can be switched on if required.

Deposit, cleaning and damage

A deposit of £35.00 is required on booking for an evening event or £50 for an all-day event. The deposit will only be retained if the booking is cancelled at very short notice, if the hall and kitchen require a lot of extra cleaning, if there is any damage/breakages or if electrical appliances are left switched on.
All rubbish must be removed.
